48-Hour Theater Festival

Sun, January 14 @ 7:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)
Sat/Sun, Jan 13–14, 7:30pm & 9:30pm

Two batches of world-premiere short plays, performed less than 24 hours from their writing, two nights in a row!

Six all-new plays each night, written on a theme the night before, and performed by randomly-assembled teams of actors and directors!

How It Works
  • Participating writers, actors, and directors assemble Friday night, select a theme for the first night, and sort into six teams by random draw.
  • Each team’s writer retreats to write a ten-minute script on the theme overnight, and delivers scripts to their teams’ actors and director at 8:30am Saturday.
  • Each team then has until showtime at 7:30pm THAT NIGHT to memorize, rehearse, costume and tech their new short play.
  • All six teams perform their new show twice that night (7:30pm & 9:30pm), and then the entire process is repeated a second time: new teams, new theme, page to stage in 24 hours twice!
