A BENEFIT for SYLVIA CENTER’s

SUMMER 2019 YOUTH ACTING PROGRAM!

EXTENDED, MAY 30–JUN 1: A special two-nights-only production of David Ive’s critically acclaimed collection of short comedies — one of the most popular and widely produced plays of the last 30 years.

“Witty, irreverent, absurd, and inventive—these comedic one-act plays are exactly the type of work iDiOM Theater was built on,” says Artistic Director Glenn Hergenhahn-Zhao.

Featuring the hilarious short plays:

  • Sure Thing
  • Words, Words, Words
  • The Universal Language
  • Mere Mortals
  • The Philadelphia
  • Variations on the Death of Trotsky

“Like sketches for some hilarious, celestially conceived revue. The writing is not only very funny, it has density of thought and precision of poetry… All in the Timing is by a master of fun. David Ives spins hilarity out of words.” —The New York Times.

“Theatre that aerobicizes the brain and tickles the heart. Ives is a mordant comic who has put the ‘play’ back in playwright… A wondrous wordmaster.” —Time magazine.
