Dylan Avila: ‘My Turn at Bat’
Fri, October 18 @ 8:00 pm
IAj Multimedia presents Seattle comedian Dylan Avila’s humorous and poignant true story about a man who (literally) laughed in the face of death
Dylan Avila is a stand-up comedian from Seattle, WA. He started the legendary open mic at the Local 907 in Renton, WA and has performed all over the country.
In 2015, Dylan was attacked on stage and hit in the head twice with a metal baseball bat by a fellow comedian who had been banned from Dylan’s weekly show. Despite suffering traumatic injury including a double skull fracture, and undergoing emergency brain surgery that left two metal plates in his head, Dylan returned to the stage just twelve days later at Seattle’s Neptune Theatre.
In 2018, Dylan first performed My Turn at Bat, the humorous and poignant one-man show he wrote about his life, the assault, and his recovery, winning praise from the Seattle Times and other local publications. Now he is taking his show on the road.
