FIRST WEEKEND is a new series of one-night-only events held on the first Thu/Fri/Sat of each month, including storytelling nights, short play festivals, mini-film festivals, and more! Each weekend will have a different theme — the theme for October’s First Weekend events is ‘Alien.’

The CENTER Studio Theater will be open from 6pm to 9pm for the Downtown Bellingham’s October Art Walk, with artworks on display by local artists Neah Dawn Molsee, Christian Smith, and Riley Sophia Penaluna, based on the theme ‘Alien.’

Following the exhibit at 9pm, we will be holding an evening of ‘cold readings’ – short plays by local playwrights, cast on the spot by random draw from a pool of participating actors and performed script-in-hand: we call it Brass Monkey Theater Club, and it’s a lot of fun!
