Glenn and Shu believe that when young actors are treated as peers and equals to their adult counterparts, they rise to any challenge given to them. They have a designed a youth acting course that provides students with a full toolbox of skills and techniques that they can carry with them on stage and screen.
Using games and exercises, Glenn and Shu create an environment of play where students can intensely hone their acting skills while having good times all around. This three-month program will take Glenn’s Meisner-based acting program and turn its focus on the wonderful world of William Shakespeare.
Students will tackle sonnets, language, scene work, acting technique, and script analysis, combined with improving performance technique, building physical characters, demystifying auditions, and providing memorization hacks. The class culminates in an open class for friends and family to come watch their loved ones’ work.
Students will learn about:
- Monologues
- Sonnets
- Scene Study and Performance
- Script Analysis
- Shakespeare technique
- Meisner Acting method
- Audition Technique
