About THE ODYSSEY

THE ODYSSEY is the second of two ticketed indoor shows which support and make possible seven weekends of FREE theater in Maritime Heritage Park.

Directed by Ashley Albertson (Seussical the Musical; Marian: The True Tale of Robin Hood), THE ODYSSEY is a brand new adaptation of Homer’s epic, written especially for this festival by Glenn Hergenhahn-Zhao.

This modern retelling of the second-oldest work in Western literature tells the adventures and mishaps of Greek hero Odysseus’s ten-year voyage home to his wife and son after the end of the Trojan War, with Sirens, Cyclops, cannibals, an unruly crew, and the whims of the gods all set against him.

The show features the same distinct blend of witty comedy and drama featured in iDiOM Theater’s production of BRISEIS.
